After the autumn holidays, the city of Hanover will deploy 17 intercultural school assistants. They are supposed to look after Ukrainian children who have fled from the war zones and are often traumatised. The employees have been specially trained for the new tasks and speak Ukrainian or Russian. More than 1,000 Ukrainian children and young people are currently attending different types of schools in the city. The new assistants will be combined in a pool and deployed at different locations as required.
