Next week, from October 3 to 6, the third edition of the Barcelona New Economy Week, BNEWan event dedicated to the so-called ‘new economy’ or ‘economy 4.0’, that is, the one that is based on technology, digitization and sustainability. Organized by the Free Trade Zone Consortium, CZFB, the congress is structured in seven interconnected blocks each dedicated to a sector.
Unlike in the other editions, when the different activities were carried out in different spaces, the BNEW will be held in its entirety in the DFactory building, in the Zona Franca de Barcelona. Precisely, the special delegate of the State in the CZFB, Pere Navarro, the special delegate of the State in the CZFB, Pere Navarro, has highlighted the suitability of the building since “it is a reference in industry 4.0. 500 people from different interconnected start-ups work here”.
Face-to-face and online
For her part, the general director of BNEW, Blanca Sorigué, highlighted that the ultimate objective of the event is “Innovate, transform and connect”. To do this, it is done in a hybrid format between face-to-face and live transmission over the internet. Pere Navarro has highlighted that “in this way, the Barcelona New Economy Week can be a face-to-face event, in which attendees come into direct contact, and a global event. Navarro has concluded that “With this hybrid format, face-to-face and online, Barcelona will become the capital of the ‘new economy’.
Attendance forecasts are placed at 12,000 people, of which 6,000 will attend the DFactory facilities, and the other 6,000 will follow the presentations and experiences through the internet. Both of them will have access to what happens in six different scenarios. Each will have a dish equipped with high definition cameras so that virtual attendees can follow the event with the highest quality.
Each plate will be dedicated to one of the sectors in which the congress has been divided. So, on one of those plates will develop new talentdedicated to the new professional profiles that exist and that will be created in the ‘new economy’. Another of the dishes will be Bnew industryand topics such as the influence of new 4.0 technologies on the current and future industrial sector.
The plate Bnew mobility will be focused on everyone sustainable mobility, the effects of the new mobility and 24-hour mobility. For his part, he Real estatewill highlight the new real estate industry trends in relation to 4.0 technologies. The same will happen on the plate Bnew investin which it is shown how digitization and technology have changed the world of investments, and also how factors such as sustainability are essential to attract investors.

Finally, the stage Bnew Sustainability will deal with the issue of the circular economy and how to manage waste. According to Pere Navaro, on this issue there are “great trends that all companies have to take into account”.
Aside from these stages or dishes, there will also be immersive, technological and tasting experiences. On October 5, a dinner will take place at the Estacion de France with speakers, sponsors and attendees. There will be about 400 people, and within this framework the BNews Awards for the best start-up in each of the sectors represented in Congress.
In this edition of BNews, they will be permanently present on all four days 50 start-ups selected from among the 1,500 that have registered. The selection has been made according to the criteria of the 80 collaborations that have been established this year with clusters, associations and large corporations. The event has 20 sponsors.
During the four days of the contest there will be 130 sessions with 180 hours of content and they will participate 600 speakers. The 1,200 attendees are from more than 100 different countries.
