Emilie Thienot and Sophie Huguet join the Performance Department
AS Monaco is pleased to announce the arrival of Emilie Thienot and Sophie Huguet, both doctors in sports psychology, within the Club.
Placed under the responsibility of James Bunce, Director of Performance, they will work on a daily basis with the medical staff dedicated to the first team, and will also carry out missions within the Academy, in addition to Noëmy Kostic (psychologist of the Academy).
Through these two appointments, AS Monaco aims to continue and increase the work done around mental preparation, an essential tool in the quest for the highest level and thus solidify the skills developed at the Performance Center.
Emilie Thiénot activated on the mental aspect
A former high-level athlete (vice-world champion in the 20 kilometer swim with fins), psychologist and doctor of sports psychology, Emilie Thienot has worked for 15 years with institutions, Olympic teams, athletes and their staff, in order to optimize the mental aspect of their practice and help them unleash their potential in high-stakes moments.
Emilie Thienot has a rich international experience since she worked in Australia, where she obtained a doctorate and officiated as a psychologist at the Australian Institute of Sport in Perth; in Great Britain, where she was in charge of the mental preparation of the British Olympic and Paralympic sailing teams; and in France, where she was in particular in charge of coordinating interventions with a mental dimension by the Swimming and Rowing federations (boats selected for the Tokyo Olympics).
Sophie Huguet, 20 years of experience in high-level sport
Sports psychologist, doctor in sports psychology and holder of a Master’s degree in psychology, Sophie Huguet has more than twenty years’ experience in high-level sport, which has notably led her to work at the heart of Olympic selections, such as than the French men’s and women’s water polo teams.
A graduate of INSEP, Sophie Huguet also worked at the prestigious Mohammed VI Football Academy in Morocco and more recently at Racing Club de Lens. She also has several experiences in Great Britain, in addition to having officiated in Morocco and France.
