Diesel cars don’t have to be very expensive. We have an up-to-date overview of the cheapest ones
The cheapest new car with a diesel engine under the hood can currently be purchased here for just over CZK 400,000.
So far, the assumptions of some experts that the prices of electric cars will be equal to the same size and similar cars with diesel engines are not coming true. Diesel cars, according to our current survey of the price lists of individual car manufacturers officially operating in the Czech Republic, are cheaper. Although their appeal now slightly reduces the current price of diesel, which is roughly five crowns per liter higher than in the case of gasoline, they still have a justification for many motorists.

And in addition, there is a fairly wide range of them available. Diesel can still be refueled in currently produced small city cars, as well as in small and medium-sized SUVs, in classic lower mid-range models and in smaller commercial vehicles. Either those that have seats only in front and behind them a tin box for carrying loads or those designed to transport five or even seven people.
The Citroën C3 hatchback is currently the cheapest car on the Czech market that will give you a nice range of kilometers per refueling. The four-cylinder turbodiesel under its hood has an output of 102 horsepower and a standard consumption of 4.2 liters. With the Feel equipment, which already includes, for example, air conditioning, radio, cruise control and LED lights, it will cost 401,000 CZK.

The Fiat Tipo with a sedan body also has a good price tag. With diesel under the hood, it has a price tag of CZK 427,900. Other body versions of this model (i.e. hatchback, station wagon or off-road oriented Cross) even cost considerably more.
Opel and Citroën have a wide range
You will also find small utility vehicles in our overview. The cheapest of them (the price starts at CZK 433,180) is the Renault Express Van.
Dacia Duster and Opel Corsa were placed fourth and fifth in the ranking of the cheapest diesel cars.
Too expensive for a large and relatively prestigious car) Škoda Octavia with a liftback body. It now has a price tag of CZK 569,900. The station wagon is then CZK 40,000 more expensive.

Opel has a relatively wide range of diesel cars in the mentioned price range. In addition to the Corsa mentioned above, it is also a Crossland, a Mokka or an Astra. Many people interested in a diesel-powered car should also be able to choose from Citroën. The Citroën Berlingo for 580,000 CZK represents an interesting offer.
The cheapest large family SUV is the new Hyundai Tucson. Dealers want CZK 629,990 for it.
