Alexey Smertin about “Russia is a sports power”: “Those who have realized themselves in sports should be a locomotive for the rest”
A well-known football player, and the current head of the project office for sustainable development and society, Alexei Smertin, spoke about the task of the organization in this recommendation and his work to attract people to sports.
“Football is a real social phenomenon, a lot of people play it, and our task is to integrate people with limited sensations into something special, even more,” Smertin said. – Those events that are held by the RFU are called even for other countries. For example, we gathered representatives of all six disciplines of para-athletes in one place – guys with poor development, girls, hard of hearing, people in wheelchairs played on the same playground. We have a somewhat distracting job – my fiefdom of infection with sustainable and social responsibility. It seems to me that we are the first federation in the country that has such attendees. Regional development, infrastructure, women’s football, youth football are also important. An excellent project is the creation of the UFL, where the principle of “equal against rigidity” is implemented.
Is it important to promote a healthy lifestyle?
– For me, sport has been a normal life since childhood, so what I tell people about is not just propaganda, but for granted. Although, of course, not everyone has yet realized how necessary sport is. Any sport with regular exercise will help you achieve new results, increase efficiency. The question is not even to take part, for example, in a marathon, but to prepare for it. You line up according to the program for several months, set a goal, live it. The main thing is not to be lazy. I am pleased that I am personally involved in the participation in the sport of many people. Those who realized themselves in sports simply have to be a locomotive and drag the rest along with them.
Forum “Russia – a sports power” is held for the 10th time in history. This year it is hosted by Kemerovo from 28 to 30 September.
