What to do in autumn in Prague and improve your mood
You can stretch your muscles while climbing the Petřín Lookout. In addition, it offers a wonderful view of the surroundings.
The days are getting shorter, the temperatures are dropping and this is often the cause of mood deterioration and reduced immunity. Instead of being cooped up at home, go to the gym, the library or an exhibition.
Sport, relaxation or both?
Who would have thought that regular sports give a person great energy? But it really is. The body likes movement, it doesn’t like being at rest for a long time. It doesn’t matter if you find it to the gym, for a walk or try a new bike path. The main thing is to expose the body to a higher load. As you progress, you continue to feel less short of breath and feel a rush of new energy instead of a constant urge to take a nap. At the same time, you will sleep better at night, which is again a great benefit.
Don’t wait for anything, reach out sneakers and get moving. You will see that it will put a smile on your face in the end.
In addition to sports, don’t forget to plan relax in the sauna, hot tub, massage or in the salt cave. You will relieve the painful exercise, increase the ability of defense and calm the mind.
For stories to the library
Do you love reading but can’t bring yourself to read at home or do you always fall asleep while reading? Go to one of the many city libraries in Prague. On the website, you can find out what books the given branch has and go and read from thousands and thousands of books. You will find novelties and classics in it, so everyone really has something to choose from. In addition, the menu is not just waiting poetry or fictionbut also academic and professional literature, textbooks and much more.
Most libraries are equipped with chairs and tables, so you can easily sit there for several hours and enjoy the peace and quiet.
For annual fee 60 CZK it is of course also possible to take books home and read them with your morning coffee or on your way to work.
A little culture doesn’t hurt…
Some of you may not have fond memories of exhibitions from your school days, but don’t worry. Modern exhibitions are very interesting and you will definitely not be bored. In addition, there are always several of them taking place all over Prague at the same time and at different price ranges (even free). You can find a list of exhibitions at Artmap, just choose the right one for you. They look interesting to us: For (no) art?, The practice of belonging, Jan Vranovský – Parallel world or Patrik Hábl – Interspaces.
Lecture and workshop
Lectures are another great way to spend your free time meaningfully and among people who are interested in a similar topic as you. In our calendar of events, we have written a few interesting lectures on various topics, others are organized by the already mentioned city library, in which various topics such as travel, books or mental well-being are regularly involved.
MLP does not focus only on lectures, but also exhibitions, films, workshops and musical performances. And workshops are another great way to have fun in autumn. You will learn something new from them, you will expand your knowledge and engage the brain again in a different way than at work and at home.
When was the last time you went to the cinema?
The easiest way to fill two hours of time at the weekend is to go to the cinema. In Prague, you will find not only multiplex cinemas, but also smaller cinemas, e.g. Kino Pilotů, Světozor, Atlas, Evald, Aero, Bio Oko and many others. You’ll usually pay less here, but of course you can’t expect a massive selection either.
While watching, you will relax, gain strength and maybe find a new favorite movie.
