MSC DEVELOPS AIRFREIGHT SOLUTION IN RESPONSE TO MARKET DEMAND
MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company SA, a leading global transport and logistics company, has started development of a new MSC Air Cargo solution in response to customer request and to complement its container shipping solutions.
MSC Air Cargo has been in the development phase for several months. The new solution will be available in early 2023, once the first of four MSC-branded Boeing 777-200Fs, operated by Atlas Air, a subsidiary of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc., have been delivered.
MSC has appointed Jannie Davel, who previously worked at Delta Cargo, Emirates SkyCargo and DHL, to develop its air cargo business and build the dedicated team.
MSC Chief Executive Officer Soren Toft commented on the new initiative with the words
“We are delighted to announce the development of MSC Air Cargo and to welcome Jannie Davel as the lead of this new offering for MSC customers. This is our first step into this market and we plan to continue exploring different opportunities to… to develop air freight in a way that complements our core business of container shipping.”
