Klaipėda singer Rūta MUR represented Lithuania at the famous “Reeperbahn Festival” in Hamburg
The Lithuanian music scene was represented by the strong-voiced singer and music creator Rūta MUR.
This year, the international Reeperbahn Festival, which took place for the seventeenth time, attracted as many as 41,000 visitors. In total, about 400 concerts were held, many of which featured artists from more than 40 countries.
Lithuanian performer Rūta MUR was invited to play at the “CEentral party” event of the festival. It is jointly organized by Central and Eastern European countries in order to gain as much international attention and competition as possible.
Rūta, who held her concert on the second night of the festival in the historic club “Thomas Read” of the Reeperbahn, shares her impressions: “I didn’t often observe the festival, but I think that it is a really big event. The concert itself turned out to be great, I was happy to be a part of it. most will see the fruits of it in the future.”
According to the performer, she feels stronger with each performance, and the excitement before the concert is rare: “When I get on stage, I know what I want to give that night. Then and at this festival, I learned exactly my purpose and expectations.”
Not only music lovers but also hundreds of music business professionals, festival organizers, managers and representatives of record campaigns come to the concerts of the well-known festival throughout Europe. This is a great opportunity for professional musicians from our country to introduce themselves and compete boldly in the international market.
It seems that it worked out perfectly for Rūta MUR – the representatives of the Estonian radio station Raadio 2, impressed by her performance, intend to organize the singer’s performance on their stage, at the Tallinn Music Week festival.
It is true that the Reeperbahn Festival does not only host a large number of musical performances by the most relevant European artists. As usual, the event was also attended by the general assembly of the European Music Export Organization unifying network EMEE, which includes representatives of the Lithuanian Music Business Association and has been participating in this network since 2017.
During the festival, the latest films and literature are also held presentations, a rich conference program and contact evenings, music industry professionals from all over the world gather.
New Nostalgia representative of the genre, wandering melancholy and Portuguese in Saudi Arabia the unflinching Rūta MUR says that the hedonistic atmosphere of Reebahn street will remain the main memory of this musical journey: “I have never seen such an actualized cult of carnal pleasures before,” says the performer.
As every year, the participation of Lithuanian representatives at the Reeperbahn festival was coordinated by the Lithuanian Music Business Association, whose activities are financed by the Lithuanian Culture Council. Participation in this event was partially financed by the Lithuanian Institute of Culture.
