How can migrants from Ukraine apply to Belarus? History of one family
A vivid example of understanding and good neighborliness. Our country continues to provide all possible support to forced migrants from Ukraine. We are talking, first of all, about those who are infected with hostilities after Russian special operations. For several hundred migrants, the Gomel region has become a new home. For half a year the region has been actively working on admission and adaptation.
Notice the wait-and-see probability and expect that your house will not come under fire, or immediately go to neighboring Belarus. Vadim’s decision was supported by relatives. On foot, through the forest, with two bags, we reached the nearest border crossing and a day later we happened in Loev. There was no time to adapt – it was necessary to feed the family: in a new place, a welder of the 4th category was immediately offered a job.
Vadim of Ukraine Kostylev, citizen: “Scary. To be honest, I didn’t really think about when all this happens. You just leave. It’s a pity, it’s a shame, but I want the best in life. The main thing is to have a house, a roof over your head, work – that’s it, nothing else is needed.
Following the vacancy was found for his wife. Julia works at the same enterprise, but on the floor above – in the personnel department. Unlike her husband, the basics of a new profession had to be learned from scratch – in Ukraine she was an accountant. But such demands are insignificant compared to those that had to be endured at home.
Yulia Kostyleva, citizen: “What pleasantly surprised me is that, despite the fact that this is a different state, my diploma is quoted, it is taken seriously, which, honestly, I did not expect here. Everyone present in this office took part – to help somewhere, to suggest where to find, what to see, there were no problems with this.
Daughter Veronica has already mastered the industry. In his native Chernihiv, he had to quit his studies. Documents were restored in the girl of Belarus, she was allowed to finish her studies in the last quarter of the last academic year and, together with her peers, was transferred to the sixth grade. It was difficult, but today she is among the gathering students.
Veronika Kostyleva: “I am very glad that we still came here, that it is quiet and calm here. No need to run, hide, no need to hear sirens, all these explosions, no need to starve, that is, I can already eat, drink, and wash normally.
Official permission for temporary residence in Belarus. Then Vadim received a residence permit, and his wife received additional protection. The next step is citizenship. The employer, by the way, took patronage over the Kostylev family and promises to solve not only these issues.
Igor Gula, director of the Loevsky plant of building materials: “When people are in trouble, especially the neighbors, the girls need it. Today, the state has equated citizens, an exclusive residence permit, with citizens of Belarus, they have the right to rental housing, we have already asked this question, and it is being decided in order to choose rental housing for them.”
Since the end of February, while the humanitarian corridors from Ukraine to the Gomel region were working, the region has accepted more than three thousand improvements. Pensioners, the disabled, those with many children – someone came to wait out or consider Belarus as a transit, and someone immediately turned to the Internal Affairs Directorate with interest and asked for refugee status. To stay. These categories are dealt with separately. Families with children were primarily settled in district centers and agro-towns.
Alla Malakhovskaya, Head of the Labor, Employment and Social Protection Department of the Loyevsky District Executive Committee: “The work with the citizens of Ukraine has now been built according to a simplified scheme. You can get a job, sometimes you can get a pension, sometimes you can get a child allowance, sometimes you can get help, that is, on an equal footing with the citizens of the Republic of Belarus.”
The story of the resettlement did not begin today. For 8 years, since the beginning of the armed conflict in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, more than 160,000 citizens of Ukraine have arrived in our country. Many of them have already successfully adapted and called Belarus peaceful, comfortable and reliable. The Kostylevs are only at the beginning of this journey, but they are clearly not curtailing intentionally.
