In Frankfurt, Ed Sheeran sings in front of 61,000 people in the stadium. However, the police then have to intervene around Deutsche Bank Park.
Frankfurt – 61,000 people watched Ed Sheeran’s stadium concert in the Frankfurt city forest on Sunday evening (September 25). However, after the mega event in Deutsche Bank Park, the police reported a life-threatening incident. “We receive reports from people in the track bed,” reports the officials in the evening via Twitter.
In any case, the police are on duty with numerous officers at major events in the Frankfurt stadium. Among other things, the paths leading to the train station and the parking lots are shown. This is particularly necessary for visitors who are not familiar with the area and in the dark. However, it happens again and again that people – like at the Ed Sheeran concert on Sunday – do not follow the rules. “Most likely”, as the police in Frankfurt say, alcohol is often involved in such incidents.
Ed Sheeran concert in Frankfurt: the track bed incident brings back bitter memories of the Onkelz concert
On Sunday, things finally go smoothly. But the case after the Ed Sheeran concert in the former Waldstadion Frankfurt brings back memories of a tragic accident a few weeks ago. At that time the Böhse Onkelz played in the Deutsche Bank Park. Afterwards there were sometimes chaotic scenes, here too visitors ran onto the track bed. Two people – a 25-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man – were hit by a regional train and fatally injured.
Well, after the Ed Sheeran concert in Frankfurt, everything ended well in the end. Nevertheless, the excitement was great. Apparently, a police helicopter was also in action. The officials therefore continue to bite in connection with major events in the stadium in the city forest: “Stay on the paths so that nobody gets hurt.” (fd)
