The capital city closed the tent city for refugees due to the falling temperatures. Humanitarian accommodation will continue to be provided by the Center for Social Services Prague in the premises of the hostel in Florenci, and some of the beds will also be in Smíchov. Vít Hofman, the spokesperson of the municipality, informed about it.
Metropolis closed the refugee tent city in Troy. Originally, it was planned to operate until September 30, but in view of the coming autumn and the falling temperatures in recent days, it was decided to close it early.
“The new arrivals are accommodated in spare rooms in Florenci and Smíchov, which operate in the same mode as in Troja. All the people from the town have already been taken by bus to the new accommodation,” Hofman described.
In the tent city in Troja, people fleeing the war were accommodated, who lost their right to accommodation and a humanitarian allowance – a capacity of 100 beds in a hostel in Florence is ready for them.

Furthermore, people slept in the tent city for one or two nights, for example, in order to confirm their right to temporary protection, in simple terms, it served as the “waiting room of the Regional Assistance Center for the Help of Ukrainians (KACPU)”, 20 beds are prepared for them in the accommodation facility in Smíchov.
However, the number of people staying in the tent city has been decreasing for a long time, several weeks it was used by dozens of people. Just before the tent city closed, there were 13 people here.
At the moment, three people are staying in the accommodation facility in Florence, and 28 people are staying overnight before the next trip. 13 people are accommodated in the “waiting room for KACPU” mode.
At the same time, KACPU will be closed on Wednesday, September 28 due to a national holiday, and from Thursday it will be open again for visitors during the usual opening hours. “A total of 109,116 people have been processed by KACPU since its opening,” Hofman added.
