Video, photo: St. Wenceslas festivities begin, the main program will be on Wednesday
Prague will honor the memory of St. Wenceslas. The patron saint of the Czech lands, the prince and the saint will be remembered with traditional St. Wenceslas celebrations on Wenceslas Square and Republic Square.

The celebrations began on Náměstí Republiky on Monday, September 26. Visitors will find twenty sales stands there. A day later, they will open on Wenceslas Square, where there will be twenty-five sales points and guests will be able to see the work of blacksmiths. In both places, medieval marketplaces set in the autumn atmosphere will grow. There will also be a varied daily program. Gothic and Renaissance music will be played. On Wednesday, September 28, there will also be a historical parade.

After three years, St. Wenceslas, the patron saint of the Czech land, will also come to Wenceslas Square on horseback with his entourage. Visitors to the celebration can see him at two times. The first from 3 to 4 p.m., the second from 5 to 6 p.m. The colorful procession led by the prince will be enlivened by dancers, swordsmen and musicians who play replicas of period instruments, such as medieval pipes-Schalmaje, drums or violins. There will be typical period costumes and performances by swordsmen. Live music will be playing on Wenceslas Square from 2 p.m. The medieval music group Gothien, the swordsmen Equites and the period dancers Siderea will perform their art.
