Un partenariat à venir entre les Girondins de Bordeaux et un club marocain ?
The Maghreb Association Sportive (MAS) of Fez gave a press conference a few days ago to the local media, in order to make some announcements. The main one is the future realization of a football academy. Thus, a six-hectare plot has been purchased, and it seems that partnerships will soon be concluded with European clubs such as Liverpool and… the Girondins de Bordeaux.
“The main game that our club must win at all costs this year is that of infrastructure development” appointed the president of the Maghreb sports association (MAS) of Fez, Ismail Jamai, during this press conference. Thus, the club decided to improve the infrastructure of the club. This project requires an envelope of 5.6 million dirhams (MDH) and construction will begin as soon as possible.
In addition to the partnerships with Liverpool and Bordeaux, the club must conclude this year an agreement with the international footballer Jordi Cruyff. “This agreement will allow us to improve the football education of young people with modern techniques allowing the former players to be dynamic and attacking players”, added the President of the club.
The Maghreb Association Sportive, more commonly abbreviated as MAS de Fès, is a Moroccan sports club founded on October 16, 1946 in the Cherifian Empire during the French Protectorate in Morocco, by Moroccan independence nationalists led by Driss Benzakour, and based in the city of Fez. The football section is the strongest in the club. With 14 titles including 2 international, which are the Confederation Cup and the CAF Super Cup. MAS de Fès is the 4th most successful club in Morocco.
It is obvious that setting up in a country like Morocco, through partnerships, would be an excellent idea. The Girondins de Bordeaux, who had established relations with African academies under the Stéphane Martin era, had finally abandoned this sector. Worse, remember, when Souleymane Cissé was an employee of the club, under the GACP era, his academy was in no way connected to the Girondins, but… to OGC Nice.
