Prague, September 26, 2022 (PROTEXT) – The Museum of Illusive Art Prague (IAM Prague), the first museum in the Czech Republic dedicated to illusions and trick art, will hold a grand reopening at a new address, Melantrichova 536/2, Prague 1, between Staroměstský and Wenceslas Square.
Since its opening in March 2018, IAM Prague has welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors to the exhibition, with exhibits bringing to life historical techniques of creating illusion in art, interwoven with engaging points of view in the age of selfies and social media in the 21st century.
The museum exhibits original works by internationally recognized artists such as Patrik Hughes, Alex Dowis and Patrik Proško, and a number of prominent local artists such as Zdeněk Daněk, Ladislav Vlna, Jan Jírovec, David Strauzz and Ivana Štenclová. New works have recently been added to IAM Prague’s popular exhibits, including a stunning portrait of Czechoslovak gymnast Věra Čáslavská created by Ivana Štenclová, a cutting-edge mobile application with a range of features, such as dynamic augmented reality filters, which takes the visitor experience to a new level.
According to Jakub Bechyna, co-owner and creative director of the museum: “The change of location made the museum more visible to tourists and locals, but also gave us an incredible opportunity to imagine how you can participate, not just engage and interact with our exhibition. With the addition of augmented reality, which we have been working on for several months, each artwork is a unique experience for our guests. Thanks to the original paintings designed by Mikoláš Alš on the vaulted ceilings of the gallery and our historical environment, there is a pleasant connection between the old and the new.”
For a closer look at the exhibited exhibits and the opportunity to talk with exhibiting artists such as Patrik Proško, Zdeněk Daněk, David Strauzz, Alex Dowis, Ladislav Vlna and Jan Jírovec, organized by IAM Prague Open day on September 27.
The Museum of Illusive Art Prague is located at Melantrichova 536/2, Prague 1, near Havelské tržiště, it is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. It is also available for private events.
