For 30 years, the Children’s Crisis Center (DKC) has been providing professional assistance to vulnerable children and their families. Since the end of the summer, he has been helping from new premises in Prague 12.
The organization was forced to move in May of this year because it was terminated from the lease in the original premises. After the necessary adjustments, it has been working again since the end of the summer. You can find it at the new address Cílkova 796/7 in Kamýk. He informed about it website Prague 12.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank the management of Prague 12 for their help in an emergency. Considering that we are the only workplace in the country specialized in helping sexually abused, abused and neglected children, the suspension of DKC services would have a fatal impact on clients,” thanked Zora Dušková, director of the center.
Children can call, write or come in person
DKC specializes in professional services to help children and their families. For example, it operates a Helpline and also an ambulance in a crisis center. Children can seek help by phone, chat, Skype or personal visit.
There is also an ambulance for children offering services in the field of clinical psychology. It helps victims of crimes, traumatized children, victims of bullying or in serious life situations such as family breakdown or death in the family.
Clinical psychology services are also available for parents. In addition, thanks to the center, they can get, for example, legal help.
Help is crucial at this time
“I am glad that the Children’s Crisis Center is now located in our district and its services are more accessible to our citizens. Helping children, but also families in crisis, is especially crucial at this time, when the covid measures of recent years, as well as the current war conflict or the development of the economic situation, have significantly affected their lives and are causing a great psychological burden. Children and their parents can turn to the center in case of problems and solve problems ideally before it’s too late,” said Jan Adamec (Pirates), mayor of Prague 12 municipal council.
The helpline is open 24/7 at +420 241 484 149. Internet counseling, crisis chat or Skype for online calls are also available for children. All this nationwide and completely free of charge.
The only workplace focused on helping children
The Children’s Crisis Center is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that specializes in professional assistance to abused, sexually abused or neglected children and is the only such focused workplace in the entire country. The working team of the center consists of psychologists, therapists, social workers or crisis interventionists. In its 30 years of existence, it has already helped more than 7,500 vulnerable children.
