Slideshow. The Annecy Virades of Hope 2022 in pictures
The great adventure of the Virades de l’espoir in Annecy began in 2019 before being stopped in 2020 because of the health crisis and in 2021 following the storm on the Pâquier.
This year at the end of July, the freediver Christophe Jobazé, ambassador of the association, struck a blow by launching the 2022 edition in Chavoires, an event of national scope; and this Sunday, September 25, the Virades de l’espoir placed under the sign of childhood took place on the Pâquier with many animations.
They are organized each year by President Audrey Duchesne and volunteers from the Vaincre la Mucoviscidose association. They make it possible to raise funds for the fight against cystic fibrosis and to raise public awareness of this disease throughout France.
The animator Fred Tissot had warmed the atmosphere of a capricious weather.
Workshops and animations to have fun but also to learn
This year, the children were at the party thanks to the hospitable clowns (Les Semeurs de joie) who bear their name well, since they even managed to fool the adults with magic tricks.
At 3 p.m., the accompanied children in disguise ran 1.8 km around the Pâquier in order to “give breath to those who lack it”!
Then throughout the afternoon, visitors strolled through the stands: a breathing workshop led by a team of freedivers including the sponsor Christophe Jobazé, creative workshops, an escape game, inflatable structures, a make-up stand, volleyball, and introduction to first aid organized by the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis 74).
Morad Kaabeche, president of the Sourire d’enfant association from Bourg-en-Bresse with his team, presented a check for €5,000 to Virades de l’espoir. This association supports sick children hospitalized at the national level. France ADOT, a federation of associations which provides information on the donation of organs, tissues and bone marrow, was represented by its vice-president Françoise Jayen.
All these associations demonstrate selflessness and struggle throughout the year to help sick children, as well as partners such as Les Amis de Sillingy, Stéphane Plaza Immobilier and Apnée Solidaire who, through their regular support, provide an appreciated solidarity contribution.
