A retirement home named Repotel is located in Voisins-le-Bretonneux. Opposite, several houses have a view of the garden of this residence for the elderly.
A beautiful cherry tree sits in this space. “Everyone stops to pick cherries, it’s a moment of conviviality,” says Brigitte, a resident of the neighborhood.
Creation of a Parkinson’s unit
A visual that could soon be transformed. Instead of this unobstructed view, a building will be created to accommodate a Parkinson’s unit. The building permit is filed.
“During the Covid, it was the only way to communicate with the elderly through this fence. This human side will disappear between the families and the residents, for concrete”, lament Corinne, installed in her house in 2010, and Jeanne, “Arrived on May 5, 1972”.
“Having this view of a building and not the current garden will lead to an evaluation of the price of houses”, warns Aurélie, another resident.
“They are going to cut trees, while we have more and more hot weather”
Private access
Alexandra Rosetti, mayor of Voisins-le-Bretonneux, recalls that “the project is being carried out by Repotel and not by the City”.
However, a meeting took place at the town hall. “We learned that during the works, trucks would pass by our street. It’s private access!, says Julien. I moved here in 2018 for the calm of the residence. »
“My daughter plays in the street. But this will not be possible with the expected traffic,” regrets Aurélie, mother of two children.
96 houses of the Joli Pré residence are opposed to the construction of this Parkinson unit. Among them, residents of rue des Pivoines fear a deterioration of the road network. “Will our pavements support the weight of 38 tonnes? “Questioned, perplexed, a resident.
Procedures initiated
“During the works, the trucks will pass by the Chamfleury residence, then by our Joli Pré residence, and therefore towards the La Sente school. Their passages will damage our streets. There are already a lot of people in the morning, even more with At the end of August, we filed a non-contentious appeal against the building permit and a formal notice to Repotel to oppose the passage of trucks in our streets”
Several residents of Chamfleury are also against this project. “Even if Repotel decides to go through other channels than ours, the project remains. The garden of Repotel will be turned upside down by the creation of the Parkinson’s unit”, confides a resident.
Other opponents judged “that there are other projects to be done, in particular to rehabilitate the existing building”.
Others worry about the residents of Repotel.
“They have to add an additional Parkinson’s unit but there are no medical staff! A doctor has resigned again. Several staff are under crazy pressure! This house is not listening to the residents”
The former director of the Repotel establishment does not wish “to speak on the subject”. Contacted several times, the new acting director of Repotel “cannot give information for the moment. A meeting with the families and residents is scheduled for the end of September, during October. I will be able to communicate after the meeting, ”explains Laura Disdier, the acting director.
The protesters are faced with the silence of the letters and e-mails sent to Repotel.
