Radamel Falcao, the milestone of 100 with Colombia
Entering the game at the break against Guatemala (4-1), the former AS Monaco striker has just reached 100 caps with the Cafeteros, making him more part of the history of Colombian football.
He was already considered a hero in Colombia. And there is no doubt that by reaching the symbolic bar of 100 games, Radamel Falcao has entered even further into the history of the Colombian selection. Because yes, by entering the game at halftime of the friendly match against Guatemala (4-1), El Tigre honored his 100th selection with the Cafeteros, becoming the sixth player to pass this milestone.
100 matches with the national team. It’s already been 16 years and counting. Thank you to the whole country for the trust and unconditional support. To my colleagues, technicians and friends who have the right to arrive here. One my family. Above all to God who makes dreams come true. Thank you Colombia.
Top scorer in history
Current sixth most capped player, therefore, the former AS Monaco striker should undoubtedly climb the hierarchy quickly, since he is only two lengths behind fourth, Mario Yepes, and one Leonel Alvarez. It could even happen this Wednesday, Colombia facing Mexico in a friendly match.
Started in 2007 during a match against Uruguay, his international career remains as an indelible mark in the books of Colombian history. He is indeed today the top scorer of the Cafeteros with 35 goals at the moment, placing him 10 goals ahead of his first pursuer Arnoldo Iguarán. Congratulations El Tigre! 🐯
