Napoli, Politano and Osimhen accelerate the recovery: they can do it for Cremonese
NAPLES – The countdown to Saturday afternoon (3 pm) at Maradona against Torino started for Napoli in the sign of the emergency in attack, which continues to be monitored by Luciano Spalletti pending the return to the sports center of Castel Volturno of the 14 players called up during the break by their respective national teams. In fact, in the infirmary there are Victor Osimhen and Matteo Politano, who are still making significant and encouraging steps forward after their respective injuries: muscle injury for the Nigerian striker and ankle sprain for the Italian winger. Both players in the morning went to the therapies provided by their recovery programs, but soon after they also managed to undergo a short personalized training on the field. Their return to the group should therefore not be too far away, which will at best take place next week: in all likelihood on the occasion of the championship away match on 9 October in Cremona.
In the meantime, Napoli will have to focus on the other arrows available to Spalletti in attack. Simeone remained to train at Castel Volturno during the break and is in pole position to rule the blue offensive department against Turin, with the aim for Cholito to dare following the three-point feat just signed at San Siro against Milan. To complete the trident, Raspadori, Lozano, Kvaratskhelia and Zerbin remain in contention, whose conditions will be assessed upon returning to their respective national teams. There could be a chance for the young man more than the group, who has often taken over from the current match in the league and in the Champions League and is highly esteemed by the Tuscan coach.
Zerbin is in a run-off with Lozano, who will return from Mexico only on the eve of the match against Torino. But Spalletti – already devoid of Osimhen and Politano – will reflect until the last on the choices to be made in attack, for a match Napoli wants to win at all costs to consolidate the lead in the standings. At Maradona there will be at least 35,000 fans to push the Azzurri and their enthusiasm will be a precious extra weapon: to beat Juric’s team and the emergency in attack.
