here are the new places of politics
Giorgia Meloni’s map of the places on the right starts from an identity place like Colle Oppio. Because right in front of what was once the historic section of the MSI led by Fabio Rampelli, today there is the Sanctuary, where you go for rum-based cocktails and tropical-Asian cuisine, including a squid gyoza and a beef empanadas with lime sauce. A quiet, minimalist place, with a very select clientele, dance music but acceptable conbel. Above all trustworthy: it is owned by Pier Paolo Terranova, manager of the Brothers of Italy and ex-husband of the former city councilor Laura Marsilio. And it is perfect for closing electoral campaigns (as it was for Enrico Michetti’s unfortunate one) and for organizing evening campaigns between executives, militants and simple followers of the Brothers of Italy.
THE POLITICAL TOPICS
For the more political, the preferred locations remain Palazzo Demanio della Camera, precisely on the fifth floor (where there is the office of the group leader Francesco Lollobrigida) and on the sixth, where there is that of the leader Meloni, or the building in via della Scrofa , former home of the MSI at the time of Giorgio Almirante. Even if for reserved appointments, from some time to this part more time in this part more hotels in Via Nazionale such as the terrace of The Glam overlooking the Hill or restaurants in the Center such as Rinaldi al Quirinale, Maxelà (here Meloni met Letizia Moratti) and especially La Campana.
In other words, what was once the “canteen” of Palmiro Togliatti and the bestists of the PCI and which is now managed by the deputy of FdI, Paolo Trancassini.
Also to understand movements and sub-movements on the right, it is useful to follow the meetings at the FareFuturo foundation by Adolfo Urso and in the one named after Pinuccio Tatarella or stationed at the Cigno bar, in Parioli, where he receives Guido Crosetto, Meloni’s ambassador in the world of economics.
In any case, nothing in the name of pomp, far from the paparazzi and parliamentary reporters. On this side, Meloni has been clear with her for a year now unleashed: no evenings, no discos or worldly parties and almost monastic life also out of respect for a country that suffers between Covid and the expensive bill. Not surprisingly, the party to celebrate the victory of politics has not yet been scheduled.
It seemed more than a century after the pleasure years of the center-right government of the Second Republic: on closer inspection, the exponents of the Brothers of Italy – both for playful moments and for work – end up being minimalist like their leader. As soon as she can go to the gym with personal trainer Fabrizio Iacorossi at XCross, she spends weekends with her family organizing parties with her classmates for little Ginevra, goes shopping at the supermarket behind the house and, when, returns to Garbatella. His mother still lives here, here was his first section of the Youth Front, that of via Guendalina Borghese.
BUEN RETIRO
Those who know the microcosm of the first Italian party say that the places of Giorgia Meloni’s heart are also becoming those of the front line and the militants of the Brothers of Italy. And so the Bayslach butcher’s shop in via Rosa Raimondi Garibaldi also in Garbatella, which today also cooks grilled meat for the customers, the Casa Maggio trattoria under the house, and the V Lounge establishment in Ostia, where the Meloni family gives years rent the cabin.
And finally there is Subiaco, the town of his brother-in-law Francesco Lollobrigida and husband of his sister Arianna. Good retreat of the leader for the weekend, which for the right is already about to become what Capalbio or Città della Pieve were in the past for the left.
