Casa do Padeiro, in Pontinha, has the best pastel de nata in the Lisbon region | confectionery
It is at Padeiro that you can taste nata da nata”: the pastelaria nata”: the pastry shop in Pontinha wins, for the first time, the competition “Best Pastel de Nata” in the Lisbon region, announced on Monday at the Congress of Cooks, taking place at Nirvana Studios, in Oeiras. In the remaining places on the podium, the winners of the last edition are repeated: Aloma, from the Lisbon neighborhood of Campo de Ourique, and Patyanne, from Castanheira do Ribatejo, were once again in second and third place, respectively.
The contest was founded in 2009 by journalist Vicente Themudo de Castro and “from very early on” supported by gastronome Virgílio Gomes, according to the website. The competition for the best pastel de nata is open to spaces with their own fabric and sales outlets in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. Competing in the final of this 13th edition were Casa do Padeiro (Pontinha), Casa do Preto (Sintra), Choupanna Café (Lisbon), Padaria da Né (Damaia, last year’s winner), Aloma (Lisbon), Estrela Dourada (Lisbon), Fidalgo’s (Moita), Fim de Século (Lisbon), Pão de Mel (Forte da Casa), Patyanne (Castanheira do Ribatejo), Viriato (Ramada) and Santa Coina Confeitaria (Coina).
