Bankinter will offer the first investment fund in Portugal in the metaverse – Mercados
Bankinter will launch an investment fund focused on the industry that will develop the metaverse – it will be the first in Portugal. The fund supports applications from 100 euros and offers investors an investment horizon of five years.
Asset manager Edmond de Rothschild created a fund for the Spanish bank that should have a global and multi-sector dimension, not just focusing on technology, but investing in sectors with long-term potential.
Investors will have access to three particular sectors that are part of the industry. The first is human interface, which covers how whose technology includes devices such as virtual reality companies and advanced equipment, meta-platforms intelligent equipment, with titles such as Sony, Nvidia, TSMC and Apple. The second is infrastructure, with a focus on connectivity such as WiFi, cloud services or data centers, with companies like Akamai, Verizon or OVH.
For luxury cases, tools and new use cases, such as companies that complement cyber finance and insurance tools, geospatial mapping projects, 3D design, gam, consumer goods, among others. Among the titles is the luxury giant, LVMH, but also Alphabet or, in insurance, Axa.
“The bank launches an investment fund focused on sectors related to the metaverse, from a medium/long-term investment perspective, thus diversifying our clients’ portfolios”, reveals Vítor Pereira, director of digital products, CRM, marketing and channels. digital .
The economic flow estimated by Edmond de Rothschild, based on reports on the metaverse industry, the ReportLinker, is 759 million dollars (approximately the same value in euros) in 2026, compared to 107 million registered in 2020, in volume of global business.
The metaverse combines virtual and augmented reality with real experience. The estimate of some experts is that the size of this market will grow by 87% in the period from 2021 to 2024.
