Austrian party chairman: Hungary’s example must be followed
According to the party’s published statement, it is addressed to the Austrian government “It should follow the example of Hungary”.
These sanctions were invented in Brussels and the careless (Austrian) federal government simply nodded, but the citizens have to pay the price, making their welfare and social security more expensive in the country.
– said the former interior minister. Based on experience so far, “because of the fact that these sanctions hurt Europe and Austria more than Russia, which is gaining record revenues due to the explosive increase in energy prices, and the war in Ukraine will not end” – Kickl.
He urged Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer to call a referendum on the issue as soon as possible, as “the FPÖ advocated last week with its motion in the lower house (Nationalrat), only the other parties rejected it”.
Kickl highlighted that as the heating season approaches, more and more people are in the situation of not knowing how they will have to pay for the heating of their homes in the midst of soaring energy prices, which is why countless businesses in the economy are also trembling for their existence. He emphasized that the People’s Party-Green government, with the support of the left-wing “pseudo-opposition”, has “driven Austria into a catastrophic trade war, and thereby puts at risk everything that generations of citizens have built with hard work over decades: solid prosperity, successful businesses and social stability”. “People therefore have the right to vote directly on whether they are willing to sacrifice this or not!” Kickl added.
