Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said that Belarus will observe the “referendums” that Russia adheres to in the occupied territories of Ukraine and will take a decision on them. About this politician declared in an interview with the French TV channel France 24.
Asked by a journalist whether Belarus is going to recognize the “referendums” in the Kherson, Zaporozhye regions and other regions regarding the accession of these events to Russia, Makei replied: “We recognize Russia, but no one can say for sure what will happen in the future. We will observe the specific ones, and make a decision in accordance with the public interest, and not the interests of some other country.”
Makei also noted that Belarus “will not participate in this war,” moreover, it is about the war, and not about a “special military operation.”
We remind you that voting in the “referenda” on crossing territories within Russia as phenomena began on September 23, in the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DNR and LNR), as well as in the occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
