Russia may ban military servicemen from leaving the country
Russia may ban the exit from the country of those liable for military service – primarily men of an age sent for mobilization. This is reported by publications “Layout“, “Jellyfish“, “honeycomb“, “Important Stories” and channel “Khodorkovsky LIVE” with reference to anonymous sources, including those close to the Kremlin and the FSB.
“Important Stories” is released on Monday, September 26th. Two Meduza sources say this will happen around September 28th. According to the source of Nyubstka, the ban is prohibited from banning their recruitment of men and comes into force until September 30th. “Khodorkovsky LIVE” claims that the ban will also apply to women liable for military service (for example, doctors).
According to one of the sources of Nestka, the authorities are alarmed by the flow of men leaving the country. At the beginning of the week, the president will discuss the plan for closing the borders with the adoption of decisions by the Duma, then a voluntary decision will be made, he says. After the ban was adopted, those liable for military service are told about permission to leave at the military registration and enlistment office, Meduza’s interlocutor.
On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees on permanent mobilization in the country. The authorities call it partial: it is involved that up to 300 thousand people with the status of a reservist have been sent to the army. However, the alleged call was not disclosed in the public part of the decree.
Source “Novaya Gazeta. Europe” claimsthat document allows you to call up to millions of people. It is reported from the regions that people who do not fall under the requirements for mobilization appear in the messages of the military registration and enlistment offices. (A call to the draft board, according to the law, does not mean a mandatory draft and can only call for military registration.)
Against this background, the flow of men traveling abroad has probably increased dramatically. Traffic jams are formed at some ground border crossings, overcrowded airports are reported. At the time of publication of the news, no one gave an exact indicator of the growth in the number of people leaving.
