OMV changes cooking oil to coffee. Now throughout Slovakia
OMV has extended the collection of used cooking oil to all gas stations in Slovakia. The reward for the submitted raw material is a free take-away espresso. Recycled oil and other fats will get a new use and can serve as a component of biofuels.
Used cooking oil and other household fat can now be given a second chance at all OMV gas stations in Slovakia. A free espresso to take away is responsible.
“Even a small amount of used cooking oil that ends up in the sink can pollute hectoliters of water and significantly contributes to the clogging of sewers. On the contrary, specialized companies can turn the collected and transferred oil into a secondary raw material and subsequently into a biofuel component, for example diesel, without any increase. In order to make it easier for our managers to take such responsible behavior, we have extended the collection of used kitchenware to all our stations in Slovakia,” says Ľubica Slabejová, marketing manager of OMV Slovensko.

However, used cooking oil may not only be used for biofuel, but also for coffee for OMV customers. Anyone who hands over at least 1.5 liters of oil or fat at one of the hundreds of OMV gas stations in Slovakia by the end of September will receive a free espresso.
By handing over used cooking oil and grease from the household, these commodities get a new use. The company CMT Group s.r.o., which is a partner of OMV, takes care of the subsequent collection and recycling. Harmful waste, which usually ends up in the sink, where it contributes to the clogging of pipes and the contamination of water and soil, gets a second chance and can be turned into fuel.
However, the following procedure must be followed for proper recycling:
• used cooking oil or grease from the household must be handed over in a closed, undamaged, transparent container or bottle with a volume of at least 1.5 liters;
• containers or containers closed in this way must be handed over to the operator at the OMV gas station;
• in addition to the good feeling of recycling, customers can also get a free espresso.
