Hessenliga: SVU is defeated in the game of the year by Eintracht Frankfurt II
In the end it was 0:4 +++ 970 spectators on the Wetzelsberg
Under Flockenbach. It was the game of the year for the Hessian SV Unter-Flockenbach, but in the end the promoted team hardly stood a chance against the Eintracht Frankfurt U21s. With 0:4 (0:2) the team of SVU trainer Mirko Schneider had to admit defeat. 970 spectators flocked to the Wetzelsberg yesterday.
E. Frankfurt II
The SV Unter-Flockenbach had set up a shuttle service due to the limited parking space at the sports field. Five buses were on their way to take the spectators up the mountain. “Everything went well,” said Markus Müller, sporting director of the SVU. The backdrop was great, “that was an experience,” said Müller. But on the pitch, the Unter-Flockenbachers had hoped for a little more.
Eintracht decides the game shortly after the break
Linus Hebling had two valuable chances for the hosts, there was nothing more possible for the promoted team against the Bundesliga club’s offspring from the Main metropolis. “We kept up well until the first goal we conceded,” said Müller. With a deflected shot from eleven yards, Mehdi Loune put the visitors 1-0 up in the 38th minute and SVU off track. Even before the Frankfurt break, it was 2-0 after a good combination by Eintracht. And shortly after the break, Ignacio Ferri Julia made it 3-0 to decide. “That was the breaking of the neck for us,” said Müller. “That was a deserved win for Frankfurt – we can’t compete with this team.”
In the end too high a result
The frustration of the Unter-Flockenbachers was limited, even if Julia’s 4:0 after a direct acceptance from a short distance was worth seeing, but a bit too much of a good thing. “The result is a bit too high,” said the sporting director of the SVU. Frankfurter war ice cold in front of the gate. In the second half, the guests determined the game, “make a goal out of half a chance, while we need four or five chances to score,” as Müller said. Frankfurt was on the road for 90 minutes at high speed and with perfect technique. “They have 25 equal players who all have the goal of becoming a professional in the first team,” said Müller, adding: “I spoke to the sporting director of Frankfurt, Patrick Ochs: he said that it was now not even 15 U21 players make it into the first team”.
