“The Constitution says that the defense of the Fatherland is the duty and obligation of a citizen of the Russian Federation, is not subject to increased sensitivity between those who received citizenship by birth and those who were naturalized. years,” Fadeev said, his words arriving on the HRC’s official telegram channel on Sunday.
According to him, we are talking about a mobilization that is very sensitive for society, there is an extremely high demand for fairness and subtlety of the procedure. One of the frequent lawsuits concerning workers and citizens who arrived in Russia and received citizenship.
“According to the current legislation, if they are over 27 years old, they cannot be called up for military service, and, therefore, they cannot receive a military specialty and get into the reserve,” the head of the Council noted.
At the same time, Fadeev clarified that we are not talking about the direct mobilization of naturalized foreigners – this would be discrimination.
“But, for example, in Israel, where an unspecified part of our citizens is currently rushing, a repatriate is given a period of 1 year to settle in a new place, after which he expands into the Israel Army, regardless of age. We have,” the chairman said HRC.
He added that in the near future the Council expects to discuss this issue with the relevant committees of the State Duma and the Federation Council, as well as with the main legal department of the Russian Defense Ministry.
