Francazal air meeting: the runway to the stars
Despite capricious weather, the show was there yesterday in the Toulouse sky. And the planes fell today with the sun!
They came, they are all aviation lovers, for this first day of the 4th edition of the “stars and wings” air meeting. Under a low sky but without rain, or almost, they attended seven hours of aerial demonstrations never seen in Toulouse: Dassault Falcon, Bréguet, Alizé, Extra 330, Saber, Airbus A 400 M, ATR 72-600, new Airbus A 321XLR. But also, exclusively in Toulouse, and for its unique event in Europe, the “Green March of Morocco” (Royal Moroccan patrol). Without forgetting the highlight of the show, the famous Patrouille de France and its Toulouse commander, Laurent Pina. Sabrina, who came with her family and on foot from Cugnaux, is happy and proud to discover the patrol in her country of origin. “I filmed it for my parents who stayed at home,” she says.
Under the sign of the rainbow
For Eytan, Nahia and Eduardo students at IPSA (school of engineers specializing in aeronautics and space) whose director Francis Pollet is General of the Air Force, their presence is obvious.” Tomorrow all the school is coming,” they say. As for 5-year-old Nolan, whose dad works at Airbus, if he is a little disappointed not to have seen the Beluga, he consoles himself with his photo with the Patrouille de France. Hubert and Valentine came specially from Montauban to see this flagship of French aerobatics. “I’ve been a fan since I saw Top Gun,” laughs Valentine. Started under three drops of rain, the masterful demonstration of the 8 Alpha Jets ended under a splendid rainbow. At the end of the day, Catherine Gay, president of the association “stars and wings” admitted to being relieved and happy. “We had 12,000 visitors despite unstable weather, and tomorrow, with the sun, we expect many more. Our goal for the weekend is 30,000 people,” she said. On this Sunday, the show continues with an identical program, a desire of the organizers to make traffic flow around the site and avoid waiting at the checkouts. Note that shuttles are made every 10 minutes from the Carrefour Portet sur Garonne car park.
