Zucchi, Marrone and Iannacone
Twist in the elections for the rector of the University of Pisa for which the first round has just been voted without reaching the quorum necessary to read the successor of Paolo Mancarella. Now one of the three candidates has decided to withdraw his candidacy and to forge an electoral alliance with one of the other two. It is Giuseppe Iannaccone who allied himself with Riccardo Zucchi, the most voted in the first round and who now appears to be clearly preferred over the challenger Luigi Marroni in the second round of voting which will take place in October.
After the first round of elections – write Iannaccone and Zucchi in a note – we found that the clear majority of the electorate is in favor of a renewal of the methods and strategies of the university government, which puts us in a position to carry out the qualitative leap necessary to face the challenges we face. This need for renewal and the identification of some criticisms are present in both of our programs, albeit in the difference of emphases and specific initiatives. We have therefore decided to converge and integrate our proposals for the next electoral round.
The agreement between the two professors that in the event of Zucchi’s election, the note continues, Iannaccone will be appointed Deputy Rector and the team and the government address will be defined jointly.
