Eibar remains undefeated at home and Andorra scratches a point against Albacete
MADRID, Sep 25. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Eibar added this Sunday its fourth victory (2-1) of the course against Racing, remaining undefeated at home and making Ipurúa a real stronghold; while Andorra drew (1-1) in the last breath against Albacete; with zero draw in Burgos-Levante and Lugo-Oviedo.
A brace from Stoichkov sustains Eibar’s unbeaten run at Ipurúa in the win against Racing, who left empty-handed from the gunsmith’s fiefdom. The control was always of the Basques, who however did not easily find the rival goal. The Cantabrians built their game on strong defensive foundations, but the locals’ first clear chance resulted in a goal.
In minute 19, the gunsmith midfielder beat Parera with a precise header after a great cross from Tejero, setting up Eibar’s fourth victory this season. Stoichkov completed his brace in added time before the break, with a cross shot after the assist from Aketxe, who was very active during the match. Racing closed the gap in the 59th minute with an own goal from Arbilla, but the tie was a long way off. Eibar is second, while the Cantabrians are penultimate.
Also at 6:30 p.m. this Sunday, Andorra scratched a draw against Albacete in the last breath, a duel that played with ten from the 27th minute. The expulsion of Carlos Martínez allowed the Manchegos to dominate without obstacles, although the 1- 0 did not arrive until 54′, with a goal by Maikel from a penalty.
The team from the Principality did not give up their intention to get something positive out of Carlos Belmonte and held on until the end, equalizing at 93′, with a goal from Bakis, also from eleven metres. The winger even had in his boots the victory for Andorra in the last play.
Burgos remains unbeaten in the ‘Second’ after adding their fifth draw (0-0) of the season against Levante, in a duel in which the ‘Granotas’ had the clearest options, especially in the first half. But the locals continued determined not to receive against -it is the only team without conceding goals against- and to make their stadium a true fortress.
In the first 45 minutes, Iborra and Montiel were the protagonists of Levante’s most dangerous approaches, which in the second half, with the teams most in the open, had the clearest with a Wesley header that hit the post. Supported by strong defensive foundations, Burgos was closer to scoring in the final stretch, but the fair draw always reigned on the scoreboard.
There were also no goals in the duel between Lugo and Real Oviedo, although in a much more electric match, in which the goalkeepers were key. Oviedo was better at the start, with a very connected Bastón who had the first after the kick-off. That first Asturian arreón locked up the Galicians, although without opportunities for real danger. The local response came after the first twenty minutes, boosted by a good Sebas Moyano and set pieces.
Whalley saved Oviedo’s first clear in the second half with a level save, while the locals trusted everything to Juanpe, who also ran into Tomeu Nadal. Already in added time, Obeng was able to give the three points to the Asturians in an action in which he requested a penalty, which was not granted, and Whalley appeared again. Oviedo is fourteenth and Ludo sixteenth, with some margin over relegation.
