At the inaugural meeting, the organizational and operating regulations of the Budapest Agglomeration Development Council (BAFT) were adopted, and the co-chairs were decided, they announced. At the suggestion of Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Territorial Development, Zsolt Láng, the government commissioner responsible for the complex development of the Central Hungarian Economic Development Zone, became one of the co-chairmen of BAFT, and István Szabó, the chairman of the Pest County Assembly, was chosen by the council for this function.
The members of the priority regional development council are: Mayor Gergely Karácsony and József Tóth XIII. district mayor, delegates of the Capital Assembly, László Csőzik, mayor of the city with Érd County rights, István Török, delegate of the Pest County Assembly, Bálint Sándor Nagy, State Secretary for Construction and Investment, Ferenc Márkus, Deputy State Secretary responsible for regional development strategic planning of the Prime Minister’s Office, Katalin Ágnes Uzsák Dávid Vitézy, Deputy Secretary of State responsible for regional administration of the Prime Minister’s Office, Secretary of State responsible for transport at the Ministry of Technology and Industry, and Zoltán Kívés, Deputy State Secretary of Local Government at the Ministry of the Interior.
In the future, the Budapest Agglomeration Development Council will support the work of the government in developing common issues and development concepts affecting the capital city and surrounding settlements, they wrote.
