ANDn October, the “biggest fair in the wine sector” returns to the Lisbon International Fair (FIL), at Parque das Nações, in Lisbon. It’s called Vinhos & Sabores, it’s an event organized by Grandes Escolhas magazine, and it will occupy pavilion one, between the 8th and 10th of October.
During three days, visitors will have the possibility to meet and interact with around 400 producers “and taste unique wines and flavors first hand, as well as watch commented tastings and ‘showcookings'”, reads a statement.

It is called ‘Arrozes de Portugal’ and will welcome chefs Vítor Adão, from Plano (Lisbon), José Júlio Vintém, from Tombalobos (Portalegre) and Hélio Gonçalves, from Sem Porta (Sublime Comporta) who will prepare Portuguese cuisine, based on rice.
There are also different spaces dedicated to wine, of course, such as ‘Wines with Taste’, which has an agenda filled with gastronomic presentation. For example, on Saturday, the 8th, under the theme ‘With taste and leisurely’, chef José Júlio Vintém, together with a sommelier, explores the Alentejo tradition of tasting wine at mealtimes, always slowly.
On the 9th, Sunday, the theme ‘Crime, they say’ will be highlighted, under the guidance of chef Hélio Gonçalves and a sommelier, “who will speak about what you should never do gastronomic pairing with wines”.
The last day of the fair, Monday, is dedicated to the theme ‘Tell me rice, I’ll tell you the wine’, with the presence of chef Vítor Adão, sommelier Pedro Caldas Franco (Plano restaurant) and Filipe Ventura ( rice Bom Sucesso), which will explore the different combinations between wine and rice.
The highlight of the program are the highly sought after special events. “Tent outside the pavilion and are “authentic” that took place abroad, comment that most of them will prove that their competitors will not know any market, the biggest proof of their producers.
The fair is open to receive professionals from the general public, as well as tickets and tickets can be purchased online for €15.
