San Marino. The “Monday Meetings” continue at the Popular Library of Serravalle
The first meeting of the “Monday Meetings” series took place in the premises of the new headquarters of the Serravalle Popular Library, located inside the Admiral Point of Dogana, Piano Primo Monte side.
On Monday 19 September at 9 pm the Cultural Hall of the Library hosted Prof. Verter Casali who spoke – supported by beautiful images – about the Public Palace or the Government, with great attention from the many present, who, at the end of the rich and interesting exhibition , asked the rapporteur numerous questions.
On Monday 26 September at the same time, the second appointment will take place with the “MEETINGS OF MONDAY”, which will focus on painting with “I MACCHIAIOLI”, an artistic movement that developed in Florence between 1855 and 1870 that refused to link with academic painting and advocated an art that reproduced any reality making the “true impression of the truth”. The main exponents of the group were G. Fattori, S. De Tivoli, T. Signorini, S. Lega, A. Cecioni, C. Banti.
The name of “macchiaioli” was given controversially to these artists by the critic of the Gazzetta del Popolo (1862), who alluded to their way of painting by “stain”, based on chiaroscuro and chromatic contrasts.
During the evening, an interesting video on the subject will be screened by Luciano Muccioli.
The Popular Library of Serravalle invites all citizens to participate.
Admission is free.
