Saturday, 2:03 p.m.: Voting in this year’s municipal elections ended at 2 p.m. In them, people chose the leaders of their town halls for the next four years. At the same time, in the opening round of the Senate elections, he determined at least that the candidates were shortlisted for 27 seats in the Senate. The full results of the municipal elections will probably be known again on Sunday morning. The complete results of the senate elections could be available as early as Saturday. The overall victory in the municipal elections is defended by the opposition movement ANO, which four years ago received 16.8 percent of the vote and succeeded best in large cities. The second was the ODS (14.9 percent of the votes) and the Pirates (9.3 percent). However, KDU-ČSL (3,654) won the most municipal mandates at that time, ahead of STAN (2,601) and ODS (2,600), thanks to gains in smaller towns and villages. In municipal elections, around 40 percent of voters cast their vote most often, but there are large differences between municipalities. In some places the participation is close to two-thirds, in others it is not even a tenth. Voter turnout in the capital was most often between 35 and 40 percent before polling stations closed. Of the town halls contacted, the highest number of voters was reported in Prague 13 – 41 percent. (plural)
