The juniors have yet another match as part of the trip at the rinks of their opponents. Coach Richard Žemlička’s men in Olomouc held a one-goal lead, which they did not hold on to and in the end won at least a point in a fierce battle for a 1:2 loss in separate raids. Our only goal was scored by striker David Senčák.
Comment
The Spartans entered the match on the ice of Olomouc very actively, as it was possible to build on the previous successful performance in the home environment. The Olomouc goalkeeper, however, neutralized all attempts to score a goal and it remained unchanged. the entire third was played during the eighteenth elimination, however, in the minutes it was eliminated, specifically from the Spartan ranks. Červenka scored a “double” for illegal defending. Hradil and Tomeček had a great chance in the offensive zone, which they did not use.
The second period, similar to the first, offered a fairly even spectacle, both teams pushing for chances in the attacking zone. In the first minutes of the middle act, the Spartan goalkeeper first pulled out another successful save from his repertoire and then eliminated another dangerous opponent’s shot. The further course of the second period offered a total of three expulsions, two on the side of home Mora, one on the side of Prague. They could even break the goalless score at the end of the act, but Vitouch was not successful in the end.
In the third period, the Spartans pushed for more chances in the offensive zone and it could be them again who would eventually open the scoring. Our team was outnumbered, but they did not solve it with a goal, and the home goalkeeper Nowak could remain calm. In the course of 46 minutes, the spectators in the hall finally got their time. David Senčak he shot from the circle and his shot unfortunately fell behind the back of the Olomouc goalkeeper. The Spartans didn’t keep the lead for long, believing the great effort, when after five minutes the puck trickled in the power play Marek Matasovsky. At the end of regular time, both teams had a classic numerical advantage, which neither team used.
The Spartans pressed for chances in the set-up and the striker Fábry was very active. He could have scored a bonus point for his team in extra time, but the talented forward’s aim was inaccurate. And when neither team made a breakthrough, it was the turn of separate raids. In them, the Spartans scored twice thanks to Vitouch and Fábry, the home team Olomouc converted three of their raids. He scored the winning goal Radim Hradil. Our team lost to Hanák 1:2 after separate raids.
Testimonials from coaches
Tobiáš Slavíček (HC Sparta Prague): “The game could have been decided by the middle of the match if we had converted the chances we had. We went for the goal ourselves, even twice and twice against nobody. Unfortunately, we did not succeed. The finish was absolutely desperate from our side.”
