Protest against compulsory headscarf at Iranian embassy in Brussels
At the Iranian embassy on Franklin Rooseveltlaan in Brussels against the Iranian women and men protested at 4 pm against the hijab obligations for their freedoms. Protests erupted in Iran and around the world over the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini.

In Iran, protests have been going on for days since Mahsa Amini’s death. The movement is now also moving to Belgium. At the Iranian embassy, the demonstrators show solidarity with all people who are fighting and demonstrating in Iran for their freedoms. For the Iranian protesters, the name “Mahsa” is now the code name for their revolution to overthrow the Iranian Republic of Iran.
“The Iranian people have been without internet access for 24 hours. That’s illegal. The people of Iran now count on us more than ever to be our sounding board. We have to keep repeating her name,” a protester said.
On the many protest signs that carry women and men up such continuations as: “No to the mandatory hijab””, “Long live female international solidarity”, “My body, my choice”, “Not in our name” or “Keep the state out of women’s lives”.
