Negotiations with Russia: Belarus wanted to mediate in the negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow
Belarus, an accomplice of the Russian aggressor, has stated that it is not involved in the Russian attack on Ukraine. Minsk wished Ukraine to become a mediator in negotiations with the Russian Federation.
“At the same time, Belarus requires the acceptance of some of its “interests,” the Belarusian Foreign Minister said. Vladimir Makei at the UN, reports Gazeta.ua.
Makei said that Belarus, from her point of view, suffered unfairly by the verdict of Western countries, as it does not take part in the war in Ukraine. At the same time, he was “embarrassed” to mention in his speech that Russian aggressors from the Belarusian territory are watching and launching rocket attacks on Ukraine.

Makei also complained that Ukrainians, after the start of the war, for some reason began to consider Belarus a hostile export. The Belarusian minister did not forget to voice the standard Russian propaganda narratives, for example, about fictional “neo-Nazis” in Ukraine, and rather cynically mentioned that the Ukrainian people are experiencing a tragedy because of the war.
According to the minister, 200,000 Ukrainian accelerations have been detected in Belarus.
Makei of the meeting was about the announcement of readiness to become a negotiating platform for Belarus between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. Naturally, not just like that – in exchange, Minsk demands that certain “Belarusian interests” be taken into account.
At the same time, only on September 20, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced a “threat” from Ukraine. He accused Kyiv of suspecting some regiments and battalions on the territory to overthrow the government in Belarus.
Since the beginning of the full-scale aggression, Russia has used Belarus as a springboard for attacks on Ukraine. From there, on February 24, the Russian invaders attacked. To carry out air raids against the Russian army, it attracted almost all the airfields of Belarus.
