László Bartus: Hungary stood by Russia against the European Union, so Hungary should also be sanctioned
Szijjártó obviously chose the Russians instead of the European Union on the instructions and with the permission of the Hungarian dictator, Viktor Orbán.
“Szijjártó chose the Russians instead of the European Union not by mistake, not because of his own beard, but obviously on the instructions and with the permission of the Hungarian dictator, Viktor Orbán. This is no longer just a sign of ideological commitment, which in itself would be enough to expel Hungary from the community of liberal democratic states of law, because the Russian-type illiberal fascist dictatorship is contrary to the values of the European Union and the EU’s basic treaty. There is more at stake here: the security of Europe and commitment to a hostile military bloc.
The boycott of the Union is important because it expresses its rejection of the unjust, illegal, territorial war launched by the Russians. You cannot negotiate with a terrorist state or war criminals. The one who does it is the one who declares that what is important is the raiding of an independent state, the killing of its citizens, and the occupation of its territory. If it is democratic, it legitimizes the demand for the redistribution of the world, the Russian and Chinese aspirations for world domination, the war launched against the West, and agrees with it.”
