Logistician and aeronautical manufacturer Daher has just inaugurated Log’in, the first collaborative logistics innovation center, in its large warehouse of aircraft parts for Airbus factories, in Cornebarrieu, in the suburbs of Toulouse ( Haute-Garonne). Labeled an acceleration platform for the logistics of the future, this 600 m experimentation center2 benefits from funding of 2.2 million euros from the State and an envelope of 7.5 million over five years from the Occitanie region for the transformation of the regional logistics sector.
Daher provides premises and equipment (forklifts, racks, etc.) to enable start-ups to test their solutions. Eight employees are assigned to this innovation program coupled with a training center. “In the world of logistics, the actors did not work together. We wanted to create a shared tool for companies to come and test innovations and exchange ideas,” explains Didier Kayat, CEO of Daher.
Carbon footprint
Log’in’s strategic orientation committee brings together manufacturers and logisticians such as Carrefour, FM Logistic, Airbus, Thales, etc. The center will carry out innovation projects bringing together SMEs, start-ups and customers. Created two years after the France Logistique association, it brings together players in a sector accounting for 10% of GDP and 1.8 million jobs.
“We want to revitalize the supply chain by accelerating innovation and giving a better image of these professions, which have difficulty recruiting, adds Didier Kayat. There are many things that can be done to improve the carbon footprint of warehouses. It also involves supporting operators in the digital transition and improving the ergonomics of workstations.
Daher, which operates around a hundred warehouses around the world, created this center in Toulouse because Airbus had already set up a large organization for its chain of subcontractors, and the Occitanie region wanted to finance innovation. of the sector. It will subsidize six R&D projects selected by Daher, up to 820,000 euros. Among these, the Toulouse start-up NovaLynx has designed a system for robotizing the preparation of orders in industrial logistics.
Autonomous shuttle manufacturer EasyMile is testing its autonomous electric tractor for ports, manufactured with Terberg, at Log’in. Log’in also welcomes nine start-ups, including Kipsum, designer of an energy management solution in buildings which has reduced consumption by 17% at the Daher warehouse in Montoir-de-Bretagne (Loire- Atlantic). After the takeover of an aerostructures factory in Triumph in the United States This summer, the group should achieve a turnover of 1.5 billion euros in 2022 and employs 10,500 people, including 6,000 in industrial logistics and services.
