Today, September 20, 64-year-old Gennady Krasnikov was elected the new president of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). He formulated the main task for the scientific community – to organize work taking into account Russia to ensure the technological independence of the country.
“The main thing for today is to quickly establish communication with the account in order to consider how the Academy of Sciences can work more effectively in modern conditions, including to solve the problems of technological independence,” – Krasnikov said immediately after summing up the voting results, he scored twice as many votes as his closest competitor, director of the Institute of Thermal Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences Dmitry Markovich.
Presenting his program, Krasnikov points to the inclusion in the regulations of the recommendations of mandatory coordination with the Russian Academy of Sciences of all resolutions. According to the statement, the RAS should be returned to the state decision-making system. To do this, it is necessary to interact not only with the Ministry of Education and Science, but also coordinate the research program with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health, Roscosmos and Rosatom.
Krasnikov also said that it was time for observation in the proposal to transfer under the auspices of the Russian Academy of Sciences the Higher Attestation Commission, which today works under the Ministry of Education and Science.
“I believe that we should consider very carefully at the presidium, select two or three serious projects and not only offer them to the state, but also offer our scientific and methodological guidance to many programs,” Krasnikov said.
The new head of the Russian Academy of Sciences prioritized areas for ensuring the technological sovereignty of the Russian Federation, the formation of a new habitat as an integral system “nature – technology – information – culture”, the achievement of a stable increment of human capital, ensuring the sustainability of backbone infrastructures, the digital transformation of the economy and the technosphere of Russia, as well as the creation of science – technological prerequisites for ensuring the quality of public administration, primarily in a critical situation, based on the methods of program-targeted planning.
According to the new president of the Russian Academy of Sciences, it is necessary to create consortiums, due to the fact that you belong to the technological chains from fundamental research to applied research and further to production.
