Salzburg: A breath of fresh air on the black list for the 2023 state elections
Governor Wilfried Haslauer presented the ÖVP list to the public in record-breaking speed: on Tuesday he presented the three new members of the team in just six minutes. With Nicole Leitner from Anif and Camilla Schwabl, he brought female support into the black boat. Leitner is known to many as a busy local farmer and deputy chairwoman of the farmers’ association. She sets new accents on her organic laying hen farm in Anif. Leitner is also a mother of four, also coordinates the Salzburg seminar farmers and enthusiastic children at “School on the Farm” for products from the region.
Tourism is strongly represented
With Camilla Schwabl, Haslauer also has tourism from the regions behind her: the woman from Saalbach runs two businesses with her husband and builds on political experience in the community. “I’m looking forward to being able to represent my region in the country,” said the Pinzgau native. She didn’t hesitate much when the offer came from the ÖVP, says Schwabl: “My family is behind me.”
In the Lungau, the ÖVP does not make any big experiments: The third in the league of the new is Markus Schaflechner: Lungauer, managing director of the regional association and biosphere park. With him, the party in a traditionally black district is backing a candidate that has been heavily contested in the region.
The three new faces move up for Daniela Rosenegger, Michael Obermoder and Manfred Sampl.
