The Monegasque delegation coached by Guillaume Couillard bowed at the end of the suspense, this weekend against Lebanon (3-2), in the race to join the first world group.

Lucas Catarina physically impaired
By overthrowing the pair Hassan Ibrahim / Benjamin Hassan (2-6, 7-6, 6-4), the Monegasque duo allowed the Monegasques to revive. And Valentin Vacherot equalized, taking the best of Benjamin Hassan (6-3, 7-6), seeded number 1 of the Lebanese delegation. But in the final game, Hugo Nys failed to defeat Hady Habib, despite winning the second set (6-2, 6-7, 6-2).
“We always have regretswe named Guillaume Couillard to the question of meetings. I couldn’t rely as I wanted on Lucas Catarina, who was physically impaired. But he showed courage on the court in his match, as did Hugo Nys, who hadn’t played a singles match in a long time. We were perfectly well prepared, irreproachable in our state of mind. All the players came out of a period with excellent individual results. But you have to accept it. We are now looking ahead. »
