The Technical Administration of Communications has created a new website zelenvpraze.cz, which has the task of informing about green management in Prague. Trees, shrubs, grass strips and flower beds are one of the key tools for improving the air and microclimate in the city. The website will answer frequent questions from citizens and dispel myths related to the management and maintenance of greenery.
“We take a more responsible approach to green care”
“I’m glad that thanks to the new website, TSK can openly communicate its green message and present its activities to all Prague residents. For a technically focused organization, historically, the care and development of the natural component of the streets has been a participation, to which we now manage to respond in terms of management, expertise and communication. Before we joined TSK, the administration department was not green, now it is full of experts. We have newly launched the CDSw greenery application, which functions as both a passport and a care planner, we have strengthened internal processes and cooperation with leading Czech experts, and we are continuously planning the development of greenery.” stated in a press release Adam Scheinherr (Prague itself), deputy mayor for transport.
Lamps resembling a tree, which are overgrown with climbing plants, can be seen in Prague 6. The city wanted to add greenery where it is not possible to plant trees. There are two lamps at the Dejvická railway station and at the Hradčanská subway station.
“Greenery in the streets stabilizes a more favorable microclimate, and its importance is indisputable after several really dry and hot summers. The view of the care of street greenery is changing, withering trees in poor condition cannot fulfill the function they require of us, and therefore we approach their management more responsibly than before.” he added.
The website informs about new plantings and lawn mowing
Web readers will be introduced to TSK’s goals in the area of greenery as answers to the most frequently asked questions. They will also learn about new plantings or cutting lawns. “TSK explains new procedures and technologies for planting new rows of trees and caring for them and the existing greenery. The website visitor has the opportunity to learn more about how to choose suitable trees and other greenery, and you will also find a list of recommended articles on the issue of trees in cities. said the municipality’s spokesperson in a press release Vit Hofman.

Instead of the planned paved square with a water feature, the Prague 1 City Hall planted a new lawn on the so-called Anen Triangle on the Smetana embankment. The spokeswoman of the town hall, Petra Pekařová, said. The town hall originally planned to pave the space, cut down…
“Presentation of our work to the public has been lacking so far. Our goal is to keep the website always up-to-date and to inform the people of Prague about what, why, how and where we are doing and what and why we are not doing, what leads us to these steps, what we rely on, what we are planning next and where we are going. We realize that we have to respond flexibly to the conditions in which street greenery in Prague grows today, and not decades ago, because our expectations today have also changed.” stated in a press release Filip Hajekchairman of the board of TSK. “We have been very green and we are doing everything to ensure that our activities reflect the more effective requirements for the care of greenery and the development of green-blue infrastructure. TSK Praha is thus slowly learning to play the role of a leader and promoter of new procedures instead of the traditional role of “guardian” in the field of green management. he added.
