Election 2022 | I’m afraid to ride a bike around Prague, to the abbey, and it represents a social vision
I have personal experience with how I took care of my husband. For the past year, he has needed twenty-four hour shifts. I found out, for example, how it is to find someone for the evening or for the weekend, to the Solidarity leader Anna abatov.
How did you become a candidate for SSD and Zelench for the post of prime minister?
Today, I am not just a candidate of these parties. Candidate with them so two names grouped together, Future and Idealist. The two sides you changed in the question came back to me at the end of November this year. I gave my consent to be a candidate.
Have you confirmed your candidacy for Solidarity?
I waited two weeks. I had moles after the death of Manela, and I was directed to do it in a slightly different way. I invited a lot of vc. What scared me and finally convinced me was the independent idea of the united for common progress and deep cooperation of the social democrats with the Greens. So the left, which was not anchored in any way before 1989, reacts to the current situation. I consider it very important that the society should have all classic political currents represented in the representative bodies. There are many people who are without representation today (votes for SSD and Zelen in the last parliamentary elections fell because they did not reach the five percent threshold – editor’s note).
You are running as a non-party candidate
I’ve never been to a party. But I have good contacts with the Greens and the Social Democrats. About twelve years ago, I led a non-partisan committee for human rights in SSD, and I ran for Sent for the Green Party.
What would you like to achieve if you were elected?
I would like to direct the development of the city so that it would be a haven for people – everyone would have a good time in it. I advocate significant adaptation to climate change. For example, it’s about greening the city wherever possible, removing concrete and adding water features.
The current political representation at the municipality took the Climate pledge. Do you think that one is not enough?
It’s a good butt, but the point is to float it. They haven’t fallen asleep at the moment, and you can always correct and glue them when you’re full. There is never a limit to that. But, for example, it’s a matter of consistently swimming in the climatic full. However, I value the founding of the organization Prask renewable energy society positively. It is a consulting and support company that can help, for example, install solar panels on the roof. You are so supportive of energy disputes. When it comes to housing, which is one of our priorities, we also want to support non-profit forms of housing and thus take advantage of some empty apartments. For example, Prague 2 has 440 vacancies. I lived next door to a house where there were two vacant apartments for about six years. It shouldn’t come to such a thing. That’s not how an airbnb establishment should be, in many cases it’s a violation of the law. The city itself should be much more likely to be an investor in housing development, so that it builds itself and can decide in which regime the apartments will be rented.
But in the whole region, the city is carrying out a massive construction of ten apartments in Rome, a project by the Prask developer company
If Prague becomes an investor, it’s a self-loan in a nutshell.
If you become a mayor or a councillor, what would you like to see in your office?
The councilor and the mayor must orientate themselves in the city. We have the most expert experience in the social field, we would like to focus on the development of social services. I have personal experience with how I took care of my husband. For the past few years, he has needed twenty-four hour work. I found out, for example, how to find someone for an evening or a weekend. Tern services that come to families, it is important to send you.
The current councilor for the social sector, Milena Johnov from the Prague party, also has the health service under her. This combination from vm didn’t mind?
It’s not about whether or not I mind. There are also needs for revenge. But I am able to navigate in all areas. As an ombudsman, I was forced to familiarize myself with things that did not particularly interest me, such as financial and construction law. With the support of qualified expertise, you can make a qualified decision. I have a lot of insight into how the federal government works.
According to you, would Prague need its own ombudsman?
First, the public protector is not empowered to intervene in some areas within the city’s jurisdiction, there and only there would it make sense. It would have to be thought through for a while so that it is not washed away. We didn’t invite it yet.
What do you think about the Dosimeter case in the transport company?
I believe that it will be necessary to refer to the set of control mechanisms. This is not the first corruption scandal surrounding the transport company. It is therefore necessary to ensure that there are real quality people in the supervision of the councils. The transport company is also responsible for the reason that it starts in one-fifth of the crack.
In the field of transport, the infrastructure of the roads is therefore lacking. What do you think about the completion of the inner – Mstskho circuit?
The priority is the tram line and metro D. The city ring road should be completed, but it is necessary to change its form.
Cities in Europe are trying to compete with automobile transport. For example, cars with old diesel engines cannot enter Brussels at all. Would you be in the capital for such a priest? The climate change plan, in turn, wants to regulate transport by introducing a tax
I think this is the right way. But it must be possible to avoid revenge. When the Mstsk circuit is completed, entry to the center is restricted to the Mst. I was recently in London, which introduced the city, and I was surprised how weak the traffic is in some hundreds of cars.
Bicycles can be an alternative to individual transport in some cases.
In Prague, bicycle transport must be mainly safe.
Do you cycle around the metropolis by yourself?
Yes, but I’m afraid and I’m not the only one who is afraid. I have a few sunny routes. But I won’t wait too long. Not long ago, my friend died in the hospital as a result of an accident that was not his fault, he was beaten by a drunk driver.
