Free bike repair shop: In front of the Landestheater, things are getting tough again
In contrast to a car, a frequently used bicycle often requires minor service and repair work over the course of a year. The municipal walking and cycling coordination therefore organizes a free check at the weekend in cooperation with the bike shop, during which minor defects are also corrected.
INNSBRUCK. Shortly before school starts, the free bike workshop is back from the summer break. On Saturday, September 10, as part of the “Common Ground Festival” from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., cyclists have the opportunity to bring their bikes to the Landestheater for a quick check, where they will be checked for their roadworthiness and minor defects will be repaired immediately.” We are happy when the offer is well received by the cyclists, because after such a ‘check’ you are definitely back on Innsbruck’s streets safely,” Sarah Obholzer from the city’s bike and foot coordination is sure. After the free bike workshop and until 10 p.m., more technically skilled cyclists have the opportunity to repair their bikes themselves with the support of the bikers.
Next check in October
Since many bikes in the city are now used all year round, another edition of the free bike workshop will take place on Saturday, October 8th at the market square. There, due to the days with less light, special attention will be paid to reflectors, lights and tire pressure, with minor defects being rectified on site.
