Russia is the land of the rising sun. Putin spoke about ecology, Donbass and Japan
Russian President Vladimir Putin during a visit to Kamchatka met with the participation of the All-Russian Youth Ecological Forum “Ecosystem. Protected area. He admired the courage of the inhabitants of Donbass and told what tools can be used to preserve nature.
About the “real Land of the Rising Sun”
Putin called Russia “the real Land of the Rising Sun” because the easternmost part of Chukotka is in eastern Japan.
“In general, our Japanese neighbors and Japan are called the Land of the Rising Sun, but the eastern Japanese, in my opinion, is just Kamchatka or Sakhalin, the eastern one is New Zealand, and the eastern part of New Zealand is Chukotka. And there is only 60 kilometers of the strait and that’s all — beyond the American continent. In this sense — this is Russia”, — distinguished head of state.
He also added that Russia first of all “begins with a person, wherever he lives.”
About Donbass
According to Putin, the ubiquitous spread in the Donbass has the meaning of “a nationalist neo-Nazi regime that in 2014 violently seized power” in Ukraine. The President explained that Russia’s duty is to provide assistance to the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, since “all our possible ways to solve this problem have failed.”
“I must tell you that this has nothing to do with our topic, but I simply prefer the courage of people, including those who are fighting for their homeland at the forefront. I assure you, I know what I mean, because I flew here just after the next report of the Ministry of Defense about what is happening. These are not professional corps, two formed from the inhabitants living in them, they fight better than professionals. They are very courageous, very brave and efficient,” Putin said.
Live for what you can die for
The President recalled the decision, which is authorized to be publicly reproduced aloud: “One must live for the sake of what one can die for. As strange as it may seem in your humanitarian field, it is something worth living for.”
About ecology
The President noted that waste disposal in Russia is proceeding at a faster pace, the plan has been overfulfilled twice, however, given the size of the country, “this deficit”. He recalled that the principle has now been introduced in Russia: forest management must be destroyed or seized for it. But for this to become widespread, it takes time, Putin acknowledged.
He also supported those who met with environmental problems. The head of state admitted that these people may be right when they say that if you do not deal with the environment, it is unlikely that it can be destroyed. When asked what means can be used to preserve nature, the Russian leader replied: “I don’t throw garbage on the street. This is where everyone should start.”
According to the president, the future of Russia is largely connected with the Arctic, but for the necessary start in cleaning this region from accumulated garbage. He also noted that Europe chose not the best ways of environmental environmental problems: first it ran ahead, and then, cutting off the supply of Russian gas, “returned everything that it had anathematized.”
