Inside Monaco, contemporary luxury interiors
There are associations which we do not always expect, and which nevertheless give rise to beautiful stories. Four years ago, Luc De VEIGY and Eric SIMONNET created their Interior Architecture agency in Monaco.
Luc de Veigy is an internationally recognized healthcare professional and eminent specialist in ergonomics. Eric Simonnet has taken a more traditional route, but one that could not be more prestigious. A graduate in interior architecture from the famous Ecole Boulle in Paris, he has worked with the biggest names in interior architecture in France, Spain and Monaco for high-end private clients as well as for the biggest brands. luxury like Dior and Chanel. The founder and partner of Inside Monaco went through the architectural agency of “Pierre-Yves Rochon”, one of the most illustrious interior designers in the luxury hotel industry. Eric then acquired additional skills in luxury fittings when he worked at “Oceanco” on interior fitting projects for mega-yachts over 70 meters. He then participated in the realization of numerous projects for luxury villas, high-end apartments, private banks and luxury boutiques in Monaco, Cannes and even Saint Tropez.
… for undeniable added value
Coming from professional worlds that had little to do with each other, the two partners were linked by an all-consuming passion for architecture and design. Together, they see far, create singular spaces combining aesthetics and rationality, and cultivate a style that sublimates the interiors of a clientele as renowned as it is demanding. Eric Simonnet rightly considers that his “atypical association of two extremely complementary people is an undeniable added value”. This allows “Inside Monaco” to offer ever more innovative proposals to a high-end international clientele. “The skills acquired by Luc in terms of ergonomics are a major asset in the organization of the spaces that our clients entrust to us,” he explains. “We are thus much better able to magnify made-to-measure spaces.”
Shake up the codes
One of the constraints to which an Interior Architect working in Monaco is subject is that of the dimensions of the surfaces to be fitted out in verticalized units which “force them to be innovative”, as Luc De Veigy points out. On the Rock, the price per square meter fluctuates from 35,000 to more than 100,000 Euros/m², whereas it is “only” around 10,000 Euros in Paris. The interior design of a space is a real challenge that the two partners of Inside Monaco take great pleasure in taking up both in terms of scenography and the use and combination of noble materials, modern or old. .
But the Interior Architecture agency, now renowned for its creative vision, also works on larger spaces with unusual dimensions in Monaco or elsewhere, and is always committed to “translating the client’s wishes”, as Luc de Veigy puts it. “It is essential to have a listening phase to meet the desires of our customers but also to anticipate their needs. We like to shake up the codes in place and offer solutions that they do not expect. he adds.
An approach that has proven to be fruitful since it has given rise to strong and emblematic projects. Inside Monaco notably worked on the development in the Principality of a 450-meter duplex with an outdoor terrace of 120 square meters with a swimming pool, renovated an old water treatment plant on behalf of a private client who was attached to keep the existing volumes or build a church in Monaco whose owner can make not only a place of residence, but also a place of meditation. The agency has also worked on luxury chalets in the mountains, always faithful to a “timeless architectural style”.
In the footsteps of the “starchitects”
Inside Monaco is called upon to exercise its creative talents in apartments dependent on complexes built by the greatest Architects in the world who have worked in the Principality, such as Renzo Piano, Jean-Michel Wilmotte, Norman Foster and Jean Nouvel. Eric Simonnet finds in this unusual environment a fantastic conceptual opportunity. “We must take ownership of this level of requirement in the restructuring of the spaces in which we operate”, he acknowledges.
Although the current geopolitical and economic context is tense, requests for new affluent projects for INSIDE MONACOwhich is already almost full for 2023!
