In the second half of 2022, Russia is ready to supply up to 30 million tons of applications to foreign markets under agreements with the UN, Interfax reported, citing Ministry of Agriculture. This is acceptable for countries in need and will regulate the food situation in the world. The country continues to fulfill all obligations to profit, while maintaining the department.
In the context of global food economic growth, the role of Russia as one of the groups of agricultural products is growing, Ministry of Economy. “Our country is one of the possible countries in the world, this year it can show the growth of agricultural production in almost all areas, <…> we are raising the level of development of all major crops,” the statement said.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture, the gross harvest this year may take 130 million tons, including 87 million tons of wheat. Industry analysts’ estimates are higher, so Institute for Agricultural Market Studies forecasts consumption at 145 million tons, 9.5 million tons higher than the record set in 2017. By September 1, 117.9 million tons of sales were threshed in Russia, including 86.9 million tons of wheat. In early August, the head of the agricultural department, Dmitry Patrushev, announced his fears that Russia risks not reaching the expected yield in terms of the performer: the pace of harvesting may interfere with the shortest time compared to last year. In this case, plans to export 50 million tons of sales in the 2022/23 season would have to be revised.
Analytical Center “SovEcon» on daily estimates of wheat exports from Russia in July-August at the level of 5.9 million tons – this is the lowest figure since the 2017/18 season and 27% less than last year’s crop. In September, exports may increase to 4.1-4.3 million tons (including supplies to the EAEU countries) from 3.65 million tons in August, according to the materials of the Analytical Center “Rusagrotrans”, to which the portal pole.rf refers. In September last year, shipments were higher – 4.7 million tons.
As previously written “Agroinvestor”, despite a memorandum of understanding signed with the UN at the end of July on the export of Russian agricultural products. The discussion was about removing the consequences for the export of consumer goods and payments that the US and EU take into account for countries in large financial transactions, insurance and logistics.
