Braník Station: Will there be a new depot? Prague will issue a tender
The rolling stock is planned by the city with regard to the development of tram lines, especially in the south of the metropolis. This will save you money the time and amount of current kilometers that the trams have to travel to get from their roadways to their route. This applies, for example, to the now extended line from Modřany to Libuš and its subsequent extension to Nové Dvory or the planned line to Komořany.
The study will include not only the depot itself, but also the connection of engineering networks and tracks, location of the P+R parking lot, parking area for public transport buses, the location of the tram loop and the connection to trains and other transport. At the same time, the possibility of building administrative buildings or an apartment building will be examined, and an urban proposal for the transformation of the public space will be created.
The proposal will also include rainwater management, principles of the so-called blue-green infrastructure, energy self-sufficiency and so on. The study also deals with flood protection and proposes the next procedure in its construction.
The transport company is currently repairing the depot in Hloubětín. He had the old building demolished in 2019 and it is due to be completed next year. DPP uses seven depots, namely Hloubětín, Kobylisy, Motol, Pankrác, Strašnice, Vokovice and Žižkov. The company has over 900 trams. The cost of operating trams in Prague is over three billion crowns annually.
